BBB Canadian Forces Family Line
The Better Business Bureau system and the London Military Family Resource Centre have forged an alliance, which encourages Canadian Forces personnel and their family members to use the BBB programs, services, and materials as part of a formal program to assist Forces members and their families with a variety of consumer-related issues.
The services on these pages will be increasingly tailored to support the needs of regular and reserve forces personnel, their families, and ultimately former veteran retirees.
Better Business Bureaus are self-governing organizations established by the local business community. Each has a Board of Directors made up of local business leaders. A BBB is supported entirely by the membership fees of area businesses and branches of national business.
Your Better Business Bureau is committed to the principle that fair dealing is good business for both the buyer and the seller, and that the majority of buyers and sellers are honest and responsible. The work of your BBB is concentrated on two equally important facets:
- Self-regulating procedures through which the business field can discipline unfair trade practices.
- The collection and dispersal of information to buyers to make them sound buying decisions.
The CF family lifestyle provides many challenges and growth opportunities as families often face separation due to duty requirements. In addition, frequent relocation to new CF Bases around the country continues to make our families very mobile. Whether it is a large purchase of a home on posting, renovations to your home before moving or unscheduled car maintenance while your CF member/partner is deployed, you have all felt at one time or another “taken advantage of” or “out of our element.” In partnership with the MFRC the BBB is proud of the CF families access to our resource to assist you in successfully managing the challenges of being a consumer in our buyer beware world. Through the MFRC web site CF families can access a direct line to BBB Western Ontario services, designed specifically to address the needs of our CF community.
